Mission statement:
Friends
of Ko'olau clubhouse is a non-profit organization that supports the mission and needs of Ko'olau
clubhouse through fundraising, employment devolopment, and education
efforts. The Ko'olau clubhouse is a comprehensive psychosocial
rehabilitation program which offers services to adults with serious
persistant mental illness. It is supported by the Friends of Ko'olau
clubhouse.
Components of Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse
Fundraising:
Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse meets regularly with Ko'olau Clubhouse to
review needs of the clubhouse. In these meetings, fundraising goals,
planning and actions steps are outlined. Funds raised help provide
funds for a green house, garden equipment, GED testing scholarships
computer software. Members are funded to present about a variety
of topics at clubhouse regional conferences and international seminars.
Education:
Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse assists in coordinating community
opportunities to educate the public about the mental illness and
programs offered by Ko'olau Clubhouse.
Employment:
Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse works with community groups such as the
Rotary, Lions Club to develop employment opportunities in the community.
Social:
Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse works to fund and coordinate volunteers
for social, holiday events. The clubhouse is open all holidays and
volunteers from the community come into help in those events. The
Friends of Ko'olau Clubhouse also coordinates holiday gifts for members
of the clubhouse.
